8VO, 1280 pgs., B/W Photos, Hardcover Hardcovers: Volumes 1 and 2. Vol.1 has a blue cloth binding and is published by Collins. Volume two has a red cloth binding with titles on spines in gold and is published by the Naval Institute Press. Both volumes have lightly rubbed spine edges. Grey paste- downs and endpapers are spotless. Lord Hankey kept a diary that was too frank and comprehensive to be published or even consulted by scholars during the lifetimes of the people in it. Stephen Roskill was given complete freedom to use them and all other papers that Lord Hankey took with him into retirement. Illustrated. Nice tight binding. Jackets: Chipped spine ends. Smal closed tears. Light oxidation. Illustrated front covers. Very attractive in protective mylar.
