Produced by Goddard Lieberson. National Gallery Orchestra, Richard Bales, Conductor.Cantata Choir, Lutheran Church of the Reformation. Vinyl record in rear, With 60 pages of essays by Bruce Catton, Clifford Dowdey and Allan Nevins. Encased in blue cloth boards that show light soil. Gold design and lettering, with red, white and blue Union flag on front cover. The second volume is THE CONFEDERACY which also has the vinyl record in the rear with 32 pages of text in front. This one has grey cloth boards which show some rubbing and sunning. Title and design in gold, as well as red, white and blue Confederate flag on front.

Jacket: Edgwear and chipping. Spine and front and back covers are foxed and soiled. Attractive design on front cover. Desirable copy in protective mylar.
